Allocation of $2.5 billion to invest in U.S. power grid.
The Department of Energy issued a Request for Information (RFI) last week, asking for public feedback on how best to spend the $2.5 billion allocated to the Transmission Facilitation Program (TFP). This new program will invest in the upgrading of America’s power grids and power lines, which were not created with current energy needs in mind. Power outages were at their highest ever in 2020, with consumers on average experiencing eight hours annually without power.
“With nearly 70% of the nation’s grid more than 25 years old, the President’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is a pivotal catalyst for transmission projects across the nation that will deliver good-paying jobs in the process.” said Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For officials within the Energy Department as they determine where to invest the electric grid funding.
- For the public to provide feedback the department needs to proceed.
- For Secretary Granholm to seek God’s wisdom as she implements the president’s energy agenda.
- For Acting Assistant Secretary Hoffman as she provides leadership for the U.S. Office of Electricity.
